Our network begins with a Mediacom modem that is not supposed to act as a router. My router periodically detects an IP conflict (no details about IP number) and resets its LAN IP from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1,. All the computers with fixed IP addresses then cannot find their gateway, which is 192.168.0.1. Each event seems to be triggered by a Mediacom service interruption, even if it is brief. Is it possible the modem turns on its router function briefly during receoery from an outage, causing the conflict?

Hello Engineer43. The IP conflict that is being reported is downstream from your router, so I do not think it is related to your modem configuration.
