Customer owned modem

I own my own cable modem that has built in Wi-Fi. Once in awhile Mediacom will push their Home Wi-Fi software to the modem preventing me from accessing the modem UI. I call Mediacom and they have no idea what I’m talking about. Any ideas?

Hello Jeff2. To correct this, disconnect the coax cable from the back of the modem and then perform a factory reset. After the modem restarts, you should then be able to access the GUI and reconnect the coax cable. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you-
