I’m considering purchasing the Ubiquiti UCI rack mount cable modem. It is not on the published tested/certified list, but is DOCSIS 3.1 and I’ve read a couple forum posts from users indicating that they were able to activate it on Mediacom, but just want to verify before purchasing. I have 1 GB residential service. Abbreviated specs:
Management interface | Ethernet Bluetooth
Networking interface | (1) 2.5 GbE RJ45 port
RF interface | (1) Bluetooth v4.1 Upload: Dual OFDMA/ (8) SC-QAM, 5—42 MHz, switchable 5—85 MHz Download: Dual OFDM/ (32) SC-QAM, 108—1002 MHz
DOCSIS interface | (1) DOCSIS 3.1/3.0 |

Thank you for your reply. I am happy to read that you got your new modem working with ease. You are correct. Technically Docsis 3.1 does support up to 5Gbps down and 1.5Gbps up. Please know that this modem isn't capable of that max speed as it will be restricted by it's single 2.5Gbps wan port.
I mentioned Docsis 4.0, as this modem is on the more expensive side for it being a Docsis 3.1. Price does make sense for it being a rack mounted modem though. With Docsis 4.0 coming near future, I thought it may be worth mentioning. Docsis 4.0 does have benefits beyond speed.
