Geolocation providers maintain databases that map IP addresses to geographical information. Companies use a combination of dynamic algorithms and extensive data to determine IP locations.

How does Mediacom do Geolocation?
Mediacom has paired exclusively with MaxMind as our Geolocation provider. Whenever there is an update to a range of IP addresses in our inventory, MaxMind databases will be updated within about two weeks.
What should you do if your location is incorrect?
You can go to MaxMind to test your IP Location and submit a "Data Correction."
