Hahira Honeybee Festival-Google ImagesHahira Honeybee Festival-Google ImagesTucked away in the charming town of Hahira, Georgia, the Hahira Honeybee Festival is an annual event that has been delighting locals and visitors alike since its inception in 1981. Founded by Mamie Sorrell and Adeline Landrum, the festival was created to bring the community together and celebrate the region’s rich agricultural heritage, particularly its honey production.

The festival kicks off September 30th and runs through October 5th and has something for just about everyone! There are arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, a parade (who doesn't love a parade right?), a 5k walk/run, and kid’s activities galore!

The Hahira Honeybee Festival has grown significantly since 1981. What started as a small community gathering has evolved into a major event that attracts thousands of visitors each year. The festival celebrates the importance of honeybees to agriculture and highlights the strong sense of community in this small but charming place. The festival has become a cherished tradition, fostering a sense of pride and unity among residents. It serves as a reminder of the town’s agricultural roots and the vital role that honeybees play in the ecosystem.

If you are in the area or want to plan a special trip to dive into this rich tradition in a charming little town, make sure to check out the Hahira Honeybee Festival  website!
