Typically an account number and/or PIN is required when porting a phone number into our phone service depending on the previous carrier. If you are looking to port out, it is recommended to leave your phone service active while you initiate the port out with your new provider as they will disconnect the phone service for you when the number is moved. Mediacom does not require a PIN to port out, however, your account number will likely be required in order to process the request.
