It's time for a fun fact about the team!
Originally home shirts were half red and white, while shorts and socks were black. In 1929, a mistake during washing of a set of jerseys ,given to Fiorentina by Colligiana, meant the red dye ran into the white, creating a shade of purple. The color was so well liked by fans, it became the official team color!
