Cooling a modem/router

Is it a good practice to place a small fan next to a router for cooling?  The surface of my router is 120F.  With a small fan cooling placed near it is 80F.  Does this help data transmission and/or life of the modem/router?

I don't think there is a problem with having a small fan next to your modem/router.

Although, they are specifically designed to be lower power, generate minimal heat, and to stay powered on constantly
